Scottish lint* and everyday people

Often when playing, we’ll see words in the list we don’t even know. On the one hand, if it gets us points, so much the better. But we’ve never been ones for simply memorizing and regurgitating obscure or archaic words just for the sake of winning a game or advancing in a spelling bee. There are better ways to use your brain. We did consider limiting the acceptable word list to a more “realistic” set, but all in all, decided it best to go with a list that more intense word game lovers would also enjoy. So if you’re like us, don’t be bothered by “oose,”* “erf,” or “crapes,” which all came up in a recent game, and enjoy the points they bring as a bonus, a rising tide that lifts all boats. And that’s all we rote.
