Today we present two (or three) flubs for the price of one. First, amid a small sea of recent stories on desalination, popularmechanics.com, still going strong online unlike many other former print staples, got its its wrong in a story about sea salt, above. The context clearly shows it’s its that’s right. And that’s that. Except our dictionaries also show the only past participle of swim is swum. But that’s not really our twofer here.
Yankodesign.com also sank/sunk into a trap of its own design in a sea story. They write of Coca-Cola’s admirable use of ocean-borne plastic waste in its latest bottle design. And that’s a [recycled plastic] wrap on today’s typos. Enjoy the stories. They’re worth their salt.
